Bio - english
A professional photographer for 18 years, Dominique Pichard left the comfort of a photo laboratory where he had been working for a decade, to dive into the wide universe of freelancing in 2007. Coming from an alternative background and a former musician, he began to get his hand in photography by striding along the scenes of music festivals and concerts around Strasbourg (Alsace). He soon published his photographs in international tattoo magazines, wandering the world and covering tattoo conventions for Rise since 2008. At the end of 2013, he started a residency at the Bibliothèque Humaniste in Sélestat (Alsace) that will end in 2017, where he displays pictures of the place that is currently under construction and restructuring. Between several trips to the US, Asia and Nepal, he organized two off-site exhibitions called De Chair et d’Encre and A corps écrits. In March 2015, he joined M33, a co-working artistic community in Strasbourg, where he set up his photo studio and began developing new approaches to tackle different sensations and paces: video, music videos as well as photojournalism, which led him to work for the first time with the national press.
